SPORTS Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek was given a birthday surprise at the Sea Games Athletes Village cafeteria in Vientiane yesterday.
The minister, who turned 51 yesterday, was serenaded by athletes and officials as he cut a birthday cake prepared by members of the contingent.
Among those present were chef-de-mission Datuk Dr Ramlan Abdul Aziz, his deputy Col (rtd) Wong Ah Jit and National Sports Council director general Datuk Zolkples Embong.
