FIRDAUS Ali Bakri has guaranteed Malaysia a medal by advancing to the petanque men's singles semi-finals at the National University petanque court in Vientiane yesterday.
He will meet Pakin Pukhram today seeking to avenge his 13-5 defeat to the Thai in the preliminary round.
"I beat the players from Vietnam (13-9) and Laos (13-5) and that is the performance I must repeat in the semi-finals," said Firdaus, making his fourth Sea Games appearance.
"There was some pressure from the crowd but I tried to block it all out and stay in control."
