SINGAPORE, June 2 (Bernama) -- The national netball squad held hosts and traditional rivals Singapore to a 35-35 draw in their third match in the 2015 SEA Games at the OCBC Arena, Singapore Sports Hub here today.

Singapore raced to a 13-8 lead in the first quarter and were leading 22-19 after the second.

After the break, they led by five points in the third quarter but Malaysia battled back to tie the match at 35-35 in the last quarter.

"For us, this can be considered a victory. The Singapore fans tried to drown us out with their vociferous support but our girls were up to the task," Malaysia's coach Aminah Saari told reporters afterwards.

Malaysia's chef-de-mission Datuk Seri Mohamad Norza Zakaria, who was present, said he was proud of their performance in the "pressure cooker" environment.
