Number Of Athletes For 2013 SEA Games To Be Finalised On Nov 11

PETALING JAYA, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- The number of athletes for the 2013 Myanmar SEA Games in December is expected to be finalised during the team managers' meeting, on Monday.

Malaysia's chef-de-mission, Datuk Wira Amiruddin Embi said the list of athletes for the biennial games could not be finalised as the Malaysian Athletics Union (MAU) has yet to submit the names of their athletes.

"We hope to come out with the exact figure of athletes (to Myanmar) during the team managers' meeting," he told reporters after the launching of the Milo Flame of Energy Initiative by Nestle Malaysia, here Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Region Head of Nestle Malaysia and Singapore, Alois Hofbauer did not rule out the possibility that the nutrition food company would reward the national athletes if they were to bring back a large number of gold medals.

"Let's see what they (Malaysian athletes) can achieve (in SEA Games) before we arrange some nice rewards," he said.

Milo Flame of Energy is the continuation programme of Milo Fuel For Champions campaign, aimed to attract more Malaysians to pledge their support for the national contingent which will be competing in Myanmar.

Under the initiative, Malaysians can show their support by spreading the flame to light up the virtual torch on Milo's website; www.milo.com.my.

Malaysians also can throw their support to the national contingent by extending their wishes through twitter, facebook or instagram by using the official hashtag- #MiloforMalaysia.
