SEA GAMES: Malaysia Win Only Four Gold Medals On Fourth Day

JAKARTA, Nov 15 (Bernama) - The Malaysian contingent won only four gold, four silver, and four bronze medals on day four of SEA Games competition Monday.

All four gold medals were won in Palembang, two from diving and two from athletics, while two silver and two bronze medals were won in Jakarta.

Malaysia remain in fifth place with 13 gold, 14 silver and 22 bronze medals.

Hosts Indonesia lead with 58 gold, 46 silver and 37 bronze followed by Thailand (35, 27, 35), Vietnam (27, 29, 35) and Singapore (19, 17, 29).

Philippines is in sixth (8, 14, 20), Laos (2,3,12), Cambodia (1,3,7), Myanmar (0,8,10), Brunei (0,1,3) and Timor Leste (0,0,1).

Olympic-class diver Bryan Nickson Lomas and Yeoh Ken Nee won Malaysia's first gold in the three meter springboard.

Bryan and Yeoh who made the 'difficulty' jump collected 392.31 points for the gold medal.

Leong Mun Yee and Traisy Vivien Tukiet gave the second gold in the women's rhythmic 10m platform collecting 306.66 points.

The third gold was won by high jumper Lee Hup Wei while the fourth gold was won by the men's 4x400m quartet of S. Kannathasan, P. Vuvaraj, Schzuan Rosely and Mohd Yunus La Salleh.
