SEA GAMES: Fencer Tauran Grabs A Bronze Medal

JAKARTA, Nov 14 (Bernama) -- Fencer Tauran Noor Iskandar grabbed a bronze medal in the foil individual category held at University of Indonesia, near here Monday.

In the semi-final, Tauran lost 6-15 to Suppakorn Sritang of Thailand, to share the bronze with Sinatrio Raharjo of Indonesia who was beaten 3-15 by Nontapat Panchan of Thailand.

In the final, Nontapat beat Suppakorn 15-5 to win the gold medal.

Joshua Koh created an upset yesterday by winning the gold after beating Muhammad Haerullah of Indonesia 12-6 in the final of Epee individual men's event.

The fencing squad's last gold medal win was at Kuala Lumpur SEA Games 1989 while at Laos SEA Games 2009, fencing contributed two silver medals.
