INITIAL complications brought about by athletes and officials housed in separate accommodation in Palembang for the Sea Games have been avoided.

The entire Malaysian contingent, said chef-de-mission Datuk Naim Mohamad, will now be housed at the athletes' village.

Naim said following some rearrangements by the Indonesia Sea Games Organising Committee (Inasoc), the contingent will now have some peace of mind as they prepare for competition.

"We had some complaints from our teams which will be competing in Palembang and we voiced our concern to Inasoc, which has aptly taken steps to help us avoid complications," said Naim.
"Otherwise, our teams would have faced complications as athletes needed to be attended to and monitored. It would have been difficult with officials housed at a location far away."
