One million signatures to boost Malaysian contingent

A CAMPAIGN to collect one million signatures to support the Malaysian Sea Games contingent started last week at over 600 schools around the country.

Milo, the official chocolate malt drink sponsor of the Laos Sea Games, is handing out complimentary drinks at the schools while collecting signatures from students in an effort to cheer the national athletes to go for gold at the Games.

"The show of support at the 2007 Korat Sea Games was a tremendous motivation for our contingent to go further and Malaysia were ranked second in the final medal tally.

"Likewise, this year Milo is rallying all Malaysians to stand together to support our Sea Games contingent in their quest to bring honour and glory to the country.

"We are going the length and breadth of Malaysia with a signature campaign from Nov 6 to Dec 6 with the aim of collecting 1 million signatures," said Philomena Tan, Nestle (Malaysia) Milo Group brand manager.

Besides the schools, the Milo team will be going to selected supermarkets and hypermarkets nationwide with fun and exciting in-store activities.

Signature boards will be set up and Malaysians are invited to pen their support for the national athletes.

Exclusive Milo premiums will be given away, while stocks last, to those eligible to participate in Milo energy-packed games. - NST
