Doubles gold goes to Amelia-Fie Cho, Wei Feng ends long wait

SINGAPORE: The two assured gold medals for Malaysia at the SEA Games badminton has been won.

Amelia Alicia Anscelly-Soong Fie Cho got the first after they beat the defending champions and team-mates Vivian Hoo-Woon Khe Wei 21-18, 21-13 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Tuesday.

Chong Wei Feng (pic, above right) then ended Malaysia's 14-year wait for a singles title when he outplayed Mohd Arif Abdul Latif in straight sets 21-8, 21-9.


Unfortunately, Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying could not add another gold medal for Malaysia when they lost the mixed doubles final 21-18, 13-21, 23-25 to Indonesia's Praveen Jordan-Debby Susanto.
