SEA: "learn from your mistake," Amry Yahyah tells Muhammad Nazmi

PETALING JAYA, June 2 (Bernama) -- "Learn from your mistake," is the advice from national striker Mohd Amri Yahyah to national Under-23 squad midfielder, Muhammad Nazmi Faiz Mansor, who has been suspended six matches for spitting on a player.

Mohd Amri, who had suffered the same fate, said the young player must use the incident to motivate himself to continue progressing in his career.

"Maybe, in that situation only Muhammad Nazmi alone knew what transpired. It had also happened to me, and I hope let's not all castigate him," said Mohd Amri when met at the Harimau Malaya training session at the Wisma Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) field here, Tuesday.

Muhammad Nazmi was forced to end his competition at the 28th SEA Games in Singapore following the decision of the Disciplinary Committee of the Asia Football Confederation to suspend him for six matches for spitting at Timor Leste player Filipe Oliveira in the opening match of Group B at Bishan Stadium on Saturday.

Mohd Amri, who was found guilty of spitting at a Kuwaiti player when Malaysia lost 1-6 at the 2004, Group 4, Asian Zone World Cup qualifier, was fined RM48,000 and suspended six matches by FIFA.
