KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 7 (Bernama) -- The women's beach volley ball will train for two weeks in New York from Nov 16 as the final preparation for the Laos SEA Games in December.
Coach Lim Poh Hong said those identified for the training were the senior pair of Shun Thing-Teck Hua and junior pair of Iswari-Tan Chiew Lee.
"The training is not only to strengthen the senior pair but also to give exposure to the junior," she told Bernama.
She expects Shun Thing-Teck Hua to advance into the final at the Laos SEA Games, and the semi-finals for Iswari-Tan Chiew Lee.
Malaysia won bronze in the event at the Korat SEA Games in 2007.
Lim also said that the women's volley ball team would participate in the World Volley Ball Championship in Phuket, Thailand on Nov 4-8.
"While there, our team will be exposed to a high level competition and will also have the opportunity to play against the Thais who are the champions and runners-up in the Korat SEA Games," she said.
